Registered Architect (ARBV)
Stefan Mee joined JWA, John Wardle Architects, in 1993 and was appointed a Principal of the practice in 2006. He has been involved as a Project Architect and a Design Architect in all aspects of institutional, commercial and residential projects. Stefan is a design leader within the practice, working closely with John Wardle to establish the initial design ideas for a project and then with the project team to ensure that the design intent is carried through all phases.
While working across many scales, from residential to large institutional and commercial projects, Stefan is committed to bringing together a suite of ideas for every building in a cohesive and finely resolved manner. He is experienced at meeting complex briefs and understands how best to communicate new ideas. Stefan’s particular interests extend from the relationship of the institution to the civic realm, the interior as a landscape for learning, working or living and the inventive detailing of large-scale projects.
Stefan is regularly invited to present a lecture to RMIT University students on design detailing. He is often invited as a guest design critic for Deakin University and the University of Melbourne. Stefan has been a member of the RAIA (Victorian Chapter) Architecture Awards Program Jury for Institutional buildings and has chaired the Melbourne Prize jury.
