Now complete, the Urban Workshop is the culmination of six years working with our clients ISTP and Multiplex to create a landmark commercial building on this site. John Wardle Architects were initially engaged by ISPT to unlock the opportunities presented by this location. A joint venture was then formed between John Wardle Architects, Hassell and NH Architecture for the project.

After investigating the history of the site we designed a podium that was an intricate knit of old and new. A network of new public laneways and streets were designed to reflect the original street configuration prior to the development in the mid 20th Century, and to create a intimate and active ground level connected to the life of the city.

Inventive detailing and a warm, inviting palette of natural materials to
announce a new kind of corporate foyer, that is closer in nature to a civic
space than a convention commercial one.
