Architecture and design on view...
Open studios and TV installation showing the inner workings of 4 storeys of design practice
Total House, 180 Russell Street – an office building hovering above a multi-storey car park – contains a multitude of architecture and design practices. Why are they all there? What are they doing? Totally Open will expose the inner workings of Total House design studios to the public eye.
Total House is better known in the CBD as “the big TV screen”. Throughout the State of Design festival the ground floor lift lobby will be fitted with a video installation, presenting live images of the design practices at work. On the last day of the festival the building will be open to the public, providing views of working studios as well as special exhibitions on each of the four floors.
John Wardle Architects John Wardle Architects will stage a one day multi-media exhibition of our latest projects for Totally Open. There will be drawings, sketches, models and video footage to illustrate the design process of works in progress and the constructed reality of completed buildings. There will also be an opportunity to have a glimpse into our studio at work.
