We’re excited to announce the formal endorsement of our second Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). We embarked on our first RAP in 2020 by expanding our understanding of reconciliation and the launch of this succeeding RAP demonstrates our deepening appreciation and continued commitment to advancing reconciliation.
Our Innovate RAP presents us with an unparalleled opportunity to build on our commitment to designing with Country. Through our actions and the deliverables outlined in this RAP, we will develop a framework to ensure that First Nations consultation and storytelling have equal importance to other ambitions in our projects. This structure will enable us to better advocate for Traditional Custodian consultation and elevate First Nations artists, practitioners and collaborators in the design process.
Many of our recent projects have involved Elder consultation to include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and perspectives in our work. Our work on the Bendigo Law Courts, University of Tasmania Cradle Coast, and University of Tasmania (UTAS) Inveresk has involved a range of engagement initiatives. For UTAS, it led to First Nations narratives being woven into placemaking strategies for the new campus designs.
